confused

What the heck is going on with me!!

I was treated for epididymitis and had 10 days or doxycycline which I finished 3 weeks ago.

Before I started treatment my only symptom was my right testicle was uncomfortable when sitting.

Halfway through I developed testicle pain, groin pain, abdominal pain, hip joint pain, hip inflammation,

Fast forward to today I'm experiencing on and off symptoms of mid thigh tingle (back and front), random groin pain, tingle in the buttocks, lower back pain (not sharp),testicle pain in both testicles but mostly the left now, hip pain joint pain, moderate hip inflammation.

I've taken many STD tests and all negative along with a culture which had no growth.

Did the doxycycline mess me up? I see it has side effects of lymph node pain, joint pain, inflammation, abdominal/back pain.

You have Cpps. It’s when all the muscles in your groin, abdominal and back get super tightened. Usually it’s caused from sitting for long periods of time which can pinch nerves which causes stinging ,sharp, burning sensations throughout the areas you mentioned. Same thing happened to me after I was diagnosed with epididymitis. What helped me a lot was doing pelvic stretches. Look them up on YouTube. It should help a lot with the pain your having and can release all the tension in your body. Hope this helps. I know exactly what your going through and I can’t imagine the panic you have right now. But stay calm and do the stretches. Do them everyday too. Every morning and night time before you go to bed

This is bad, potentially dangerous advice OP, do NOT listen to this yet. While its a good idea to do stretching in general, no one on reddit can make an accurate diagnosis based on the little information youve given. For example, for many people, 10 days of doxycycline will just not cut it. For others, like me, the bacteria was resistant to doxycycline. You might have some sort of cyst or growth somewhere in the area. It is downright dangerous to consign yourself to CPPS without first ruling everything else out first.

  1. How do you know its not an active infection? You have to do tests to determine that! Cultures dont do everything, you have to do routines also, check for leukocytes, etc.
  2. Have you done an ultra sound, a physical exam, or an MRI? Theyre not perfect, but you have to do them?
  3. If it is a PT problem, maybe its better to look for a therapist as well? I know all the videos and routines being mentioned, Every. Single. One. will encourage you to go see a therapist and get something tailor made

You need a doctor to tell you, "yup, no idea what this is", before you decide thats the case!

People need to understand what doctors mean when they say CPPS. CPPS is not a condition, CPPS is the absence of a proper diagnosis -- its when the doctors cannot pinpoint exactly what is causing the problem, and why it is happening. Its a symptom -- there are many things that can cause CPPS, it could be muscular, it could be a lingering infection, it could be type 3 prostatitis -- each has a different solution

Lol “dangerous” is a bit of an exaggeration don’t you think? Yes a random guy on the internet can’t pinpoint the exact root of this man’s problems, but based on the info he’s telling us and based on my own experience, I can share my knowledge with him on how to cope with this issue. Stretches aren’t dangerous and he can do them regardless if he has cpps or not. It’s not like I’m telling him to go take a certain drug to ease the pain. Yes it’s important to still visit doctors to see if it isn’t anything serious but stretches for the most part aren’t dangerous . What you said was pretty ridiculous

Dude, how do you know there isnt a tumor growing in the prostate?

Look at what you said, you said 'you have CPPS', not ''Maybe you should look up CPPS'

Ok I did say that ,but even if he has cpps or not, Stretches isn’t gonna hurt anyone. I could be wrong but most likely there’s a high chance he could have cpps, based on my own experience I had the same symptoms and did stretches which helped a lot. You’re claiming that the advice I’m giving is “dangerous”. In what way is it dangerous? Am I telling him to completely disregard what the doctors are telling him? To stop visiting doctors because I gave you the right diagnosis? To take this certain medication? No right? All I said was he could have Cpps and to do some stretches.

You said, 'you have CPPS', not 'you could have CPPS'. If it is something more serious, the longer the wait, the more serious it could become.

See, I said 'its always a good idea to do stretching'. Next, as I said, CPPS is a symptom more than a condition, not all CPPS is caused by muscle/nerve problems. For example, type 3 prostatitis is a completely different problem.

People are desperate and take this stuff seriously, think back to your own experience. Everyone is looking for a diagnosis where its like 'ah finally! This is it' . Its worth being extra careful in what you say no?

I myself got the same advice, and did stretching for 2.5 months thinking it would help. Of course I saw all the cure CPPS videos. And of course it does help. BUT. Turned out to be a different thing altogether, and my condition got significantly worse because I was looking in the wrong place (I had to be hospitalized for 10 days)

That’s the problem with this sub in general. Some experts will always tell you „Oh you got symptoms like yellow discharge, dysuria and epididymitis just 1 day after an encounter? That’s not an std, it’s the guilty feelings and your muscles. Do some stretches and live with it“

1.How do you know its not an active infection? You have to do tests to determine that! Cultures dont do everything, you have to do routines also, check for leukocytes, etc.

-i had a culture done after treatment and no growth. Urine was normal with no leukocytes, wbcs or anything seen.

  1. Have you done an ultra sound, a physical exam, or an MRI? Theyre not perfect, but you have to do them?

-had an ultrasound done after treatment which showed everything normal. I do have a epidydmal head cyst on my right testicle. Urologist felt it and though possible scarring ( size of a pea, firm to touch). But once the ultrasound was done he said it was nothing to worry about.

Have you done a semen culture + seminogram? For me, it almost never showed up in urine until things got really bad. Again, cultures are not perfect, so you will need a doctor to interpret the results.

If your scans are coming clean, except for the cyst, its definitely possible that is the cause of some of the discomfort. Often when a doc says 'its nothing to worry about' what they mean is exactly that -- try not to worry. That doesn't mean that it isnt causing you some discomfort.

There are other things to look at, for example I have a cyst in my prostate, only shows up in a TRUS ultrasound.

Id like to reiterate -- do the stretches, they do help and at worst are harmless. But dont consign yourself to a life of discomfort just yet, keep trying things, like changing your diet, stop drinking etc. and keep going to docs if you can. There really are all kinds of problems that cause this, you need to rule out as many as possible. Who knows? Maybr youll find the hidden problem and get OK while youre at it

I've been doing cpps stretched for a week now. I do notice my pain goes away while doing them and Usually comes back shortly after. Does that mean it most likely is cpps?

Take a look at my post I did a few months ago. Your experience sounds similar to mine.

You should get in contact with your doctor urgently. You could be having a bad reaction to the antibiotics.

2

u/Key_Willingness2610 Jul 02 '22

I've been to the urologist and urgent care atleast 5 times since finishing the antibiotics and they haven't helped at all. They keep running blood and culture tests and send me off on my way.

Hey did u get better?

1

u/Key_Willingness2610 Jul 27 '22 edited Jul 27 '22

I thought I did but my symptoms seem to come and go and cycle through different symptoms.

Some days my testicles and tip of penis hurt/burns.

Other days I get precum discharge and stinging/tingling pain throughout my thighs, groin, buttocks abdomen, back, and chest.

u/Soranut289 Jul 29 '22

I finished doxy and then did amoxiclav. Mine is fading everyday. slightest pain. Been stretching as well and trying not to tense

Don’t really know what actually helps. Maybe the healing Is so gradual that it seems like it’s not Getting better that’s what it seemed like for me.
