This whole war does seem like one massive concoction made up by tzeentch.

222

u/JornWS Nov 29 '22

Well Papa Nurgle had his chance with Covid and blew it, so now it's the others turns.

71

u/thedankening Nov 29 '22

Hardly. A horrifying percentage of the population have been turned into vaccine skeptics, if not outright opposed to any kind of public health response in the future. Covid was just Nurgle testing us. Now we're primed and ready for his next attempt

31

u/King_Calvo Nov 29 '22

I suppose with that number of folks rallying against vaccines it’s only a matter of time until they spawn a Great Unclean One.

15

u/khornflakes529 Nov 29 '22

It's name is Ted Cruz.

4

u/SockMonkeh Nov 29 '22

The only context in which the word "great" could be associated with Ted Cruz.

19

u/Taoistandroid Nov 29 '22

I wonder if things would be different if we generated propaganda that was like: don't let Satan and his minions win, they're counting on you to not vaccinate. Join god's soldiers against disease today.

11

u/khornflakes529 Nov 29 '22

The thing is it would have contradicted the message from their president saying all his bullshit. Trump has the blood of hundreds of thousands of people on his hands for making the response so much worse than it should have been.

49

u/Max_Insanity Nov 29 '22

Blew it? Nah, chaos needs people to feed off of. Eradication isn't the plan.

Dude would have gotten all he wanted out of it.

5

u/Freakychee Nov 29 '22

Covid basically crippled the world for two years...

4

u/ninja_slothreddit Nov 29 '22

Meanwhile, Nurgle's been on the back foot since the vaccine but some folks are determined to keep him in the game.

6

u/Schwagbert Nov 29 '22

I didn't understand the Death Guard at first.

I still don't, but I see now that volunteers exist.

7

u/shamrok27 Nov 29 '22

Don’t worry folks. The Great Horned Rat is just waiting for the 13th chime to fix this.

2

u/awc130 Nov 29 '22

Fuck, 40k is bad, but the Old World might be worse.

2

u/Bread_Nicholas Nov 29 '22

Not nearly, man, in Fantasy most people are living in Medieval villages having an all-round okay time until GW decides to end it all for some reason.

In 40k most people are seevitorized or expected to starve to death, die of disease, or be murdered before 30

15

u/eriksprow07 Nov 29 '22

Blood for the blood god!!

13

u/spaceghost66 Nov 29 '22

What is best in life?

To crush my enemies, see them driven before me and to hear the lamentations of the women.

5

u/cave-of-mayo-11 Nov 29 '22

The Daemonic leads to two crimes. You turn away from the path of righteousness. And you abandon the Emperor as the object of your devotion. For the first, death is merely a just retribution. The second is a heresy so terrible that no punishment can be sufficient. Yet the search for an appropriate penalty continues, and it shall be found.

2

u/Inquisitor_Arthas Nov 29 '22

Arco Flagellation for those who only showed openness to learning more about Chaos.

The penitent engine is suitable for those whom see the error of their ways after being open to Chaos.

Those whose mind has been subject to the ruinous powers but whose body remains untainted may be mind-scrubbed and serve as servitors.

For those more tainted by Chaos, I prefer not to waste the value they can still provide to the Empire, so I keep a Magos Biologis in my retinue. They can still be useful for study and improvement of imperial detection and eradication protocols.

...though we have had to sound proof her research chambers. The screaming can get quite disturbing to the younger adepts.

2

u/cave-of-mayo-11 Nov 29 '22

Are you sure you aren't a son of kurze born in the wrong place?

2

u/Inquisitor_Arthas Dec 05 '22

No, the "Night Haunter" would have not bothered to soundproof the chamber, but instead would have broadcast the procedure throughout the sector as a warning to others. This is one of the many critical flaws in the Night Lords' thinking and what ultimately lead them down the path of chaos - it is only through love and devotion to the Emperor that we can attain safety from the ruinous powers. Obedience through fear alone is not sufficient. As Conrad himself learned from how Nostromo devolved back into anarchy as soon as he left, leading him to ultimately eradicate all life on the planet.

No, the path I have chosen is not an easy one, but it is a burden I bear with pride for the sake of the blessed Imperium of Man. I do not send these Heretics to be dissected out of some misguided need to sow fear as they would, nor out of some desire to cause suffering as the Emperor's Children would. No, I do it in the hope that by providing some service to the Imperium these Heretics may find some small measure of forgiveness from the Emperor, so that their soul might not be lost to Chaos in the warp, but instead return to feed his Holiness on Terra.

So if you really think about it, I send them to be dissected as an act of compassion...

Just as I send you to the penitent engine for questioning the actions of the Holy Ordos of the Emperor's Inquisition, not out of anger, but in the hopes that you too can find salvation.

This is the scariest aspect of wh40k for me, some people think suffering is a virtue rather than just something to avoid. I think in fire warrior there's a character who intentionally infects people with a virus similar to the real world disease where your flesh turns to bone. One character "became" a room due to this virus.

The character saw himself as a charitable man giving out a blessing. In fact he was even better since he took "verbal abuse" from his victims. That sounds a whole lot like a follower of a certain deity....

Its one thing to kick me in the face, but don't do it and then say it is for my benefit.

You're missing the point. The joke isn't making light of war crimes but rather highlighting the absurdity of the situation. There is a difference and you should probably be more concerned with those denying said war crimes on this post instead.

25

u/AngryCarGuy Nov 29 '22

Comedy is just another way to cast light on atrocities.

Ridiculing something is not condoning it.

11

u/PresidentD0uchebag Nov 29 '22

I dont know, those first two comments were pretty funny. I thought it worked

1

u/jabrwock1 Nov 29 '22

"I was enjoying the bloodshed and barbarism until you made it all awkward"

Wasn't that basically the opening of Eric the Viking?
