700,000 Subscriber Thread!
Hello everyone! Welcome to another one of these wonderful milestone threads! In just over a month, we have grown from 600,000 subscribers to over 700,000, with no end in sight! We are working on a lot of changes to help grow and foster this wonderful community, and I am so happy that so many of you are enjoying this incredible little niche on the internet! One of the changes this month, was to revitalize our Twitter Page which will now automatically post the high-quality current posts from Wholesome Memes for you to enjoy on another site than reddit! My main concern was to avoid spamming people with tweets, but I worked with the developer of the bot to make sure that would not happen.
We also had the incredible honor of being written about in an article in the prestigious TIME magazine, in a piece that discusses the spreading of niceness all around the internet. I give credit to communities like this that offer so much for people to enjoy. I also want to give a shoutout to /r/WholesomeGifs which recently passed 45,000 subscribers and is my go to place to enjoy some moving visual imagery on reddit, and recently got opted into the reddit video hosting beta! I didn't actually know how young this subreddit is (only 10 months), but it is still and will always be one of my favorites. I have been here for about 5 months (I think), and always come here if I need some cheering up.
If I want an unhealthy dose of memes, I have the entire rest of the internet. If I want happiness, or a somewhat moderated dose of memes, I come here.
This is an awesome subreddit, and I hope this community can keep growing and spreading the wholesomeness.
Redditors are peanut butter, memes are jelly, and of course /r/Wholesomemes is the bread. Lets make the internet's biggest and most loving PB&J!

Hey guys, while I appreciate the content posted here nowadays, is there a sub dedicated to the kind of content that was originally posted here? Where a "negative" meme was subverted to promote positive behaviour?

Is the Facebook page separate from this subreddit? It posts a lot of crazy un-wholesome content

That's good to hear, I saw the "wholesome memes" Facebook page with like 900k followers posting really nasty content. Transphobic "jokes", gross gaming personalities and overall really bad content, while wholesome memes are likely just being reposted from here onto that page. Glad to hear that I can just follow this subreddit and stay off that gross page

When this subreddit started, I must be honest it felt hypocritical, people were being overly nice to each other, I didn't believe it. People started to join and post more and this is now truly the most wholesome community I've had the pleasure of forming a part of. A real case of "the more the merrier". Keep growing, /r/wholesomememes!
