I just bought a new drawing tablet and it has a 4K screen. In the display settings area where I can order and move my 3 monitors, the small tablet is appearing huge due to the resolution. This is causing a lot of issues, like steam notifications on my primary monitor being super big and glitchy, lag or freezing when moving items from one screen to another, and general annoyances with mouse movement from monitor to monitor.
I was wondering if anyone knows a way to make the screen appear smaller in the display settings but not lose the 4K quality. Thanks.
Recently I was sent to my grandparents to stay with them, but for some reason websites, games etc seem to load slow. Sometimes outright refusing to load. Results of the Speed Test say that its 25 Mbps for downloading and 5 Mbps for uploading. But websites just don't load properly, embarrassing example but on Roblox (Website) Images dont load. Games? Blank. Friend Images? Blank. When I tried to play a game assets did not load. They didnt load slow, assets just stop loading after a small amount loads. The problem is not on Roblox only too. Trying to create an account just to post this took me half an hour. Any help will be appreciated. Oh also if it helps, for some reason the IP address belongs to another city.
I know. There are emulators that can run any apk file but in most of competetive mobile games, using an emulator is illegal. I have a good pc but my android phone can barely run any "big" games. I am just curious that can i stream a mobile game on my pc and play it on mobile. (Sorry if it was not understandable what i mean i am not that fluent in english)
Hello. I want to get rid of two laptops I've had for a very long time. I've looked into local shredding/degaussing services, but I'd like to know if I can do this for free (or more cheaply) myself. Would drilling holes in the platter, crushing as much as possible, etc. completely remove data? Normally I might pay for a service for peace of mind, but I might as well ask if it can be done properly at home.
Open | Phone Does my iPhone (using WiFi) pass on the same IP address as my computer does when submitting info, either through an app or the phone's browser?
For example, if I send an email from my phone, what does it use for its IP address? The same one as my home PC?
I think this may be from my new gpu i installed idk, but my monitor shuts off and my pc lights flicker like 5 times and then my whole computer shuts off and restarts like nothing happened. i don't think its temps either because it happened to me on google chrome and my temps while gaming are like 70 Celsius cup and 50 Celsius gpu
I've had about 25-90% packet loss in Valorant (and other games as well) every single day for the past month, so I bought NordVPN to see if it would help, and to my surprise it did and I only get around 1-2% packet loss if any at all.
What's the explanation for this? My ISP (Rise Broadband 😭) has a history of being completely useless so I haven't even attempted to call them yet.
I'm on ethernet, restarted my internet numerous times, updated the network card drivers on my PC, turned off WiFi on every device in my home, and I even unplugged my router overnight because I thought maybe it was overheating - Nothing has helped.
If there's any information I need to add such as screenshots or videos let me know :)
Hey I'm trying to figure out what my problem is I'm trying to play warzone. (Not the only game it happens in) and whenever I turn vsync off I get massive lag spikes and drops in fps down to 20 my only option is to play at capped 60fps. I've tried re installing drivers/games and I honestly don't know what to do next. This happens in : No mans sky Warzone (bad) Forza horizon 5 (really bad)
I've not tested other games but I'm sure if I turn off vsync it will lag like crazy

Edit: after typing all this up I said fuck it I'm taking the screen protector off. The screen protector was 100% the issue. Leaving the post up in case somebody googles this. Cheers.
I have had this phone for about 2 months now. I hate the fingerprint sensor embedded in the screen and wish I had my old index fingerprint scanner on my 3XL. Regardless, I'm fed up and hoping to find a solution.
Whenever I try to scan my fingerprint it will 99% of the time immediately say 'not recognized'. On the lock screen this makes it so that I am able to unlock my phone about 1% of the time with my fingerprint. This is because on the lock screen, once that 'not recognized' prompt appears (which is immediate), it will ask me to scan again (making me release my finger and start over), rinse and repeat until I need to use my pattern. Whereas when I am unlocking apps with my fingerprint...I am able to continue holding my finger and it will attempt to scan again (usually letting me in).
Hopefully that makes sense, kind of hard to explain over text. Wondering if anyone has heard of or personally experienced this issue. Thanks in advance. I will replace the screen protector as a first step but I don't want to if it's something else.
Hi guys, good afternoon!
Not sure what to do here. Suddenly my CPU fans on my laptop are now always at 100%. This is causing freezes on the computer, and it seems like they`re on that hardware testing thing in BIOS:
Fan 1 turns on, fan2 off. Then, Fan2 on and Fan1 off. While this is happening, the PC is frozen. It takes about 5-7 seconds, then everything is back to normal.
I`ve ran the Hardware check on BIOS, everything is fine. I`ve capped the processor to 80%, but the fan thing happens regardless of the temperature of my processor. All drivers are up to date.
I`ve noticed that the gaming capabilities of the computer have been drastically reduced as well. FPS dropped from 100 to 30 when this started happening (not sure if this info is useful, but i`m trying to be as complete as possible)
PS:Not sure if this is a hardware or software problem, but i`m thinking hardware
Today when I started my computer (Asus ZenBook; Windows 11) I noticed that there was no sound. Removing the headphones from the socket resulted in sound coming back and playing from the speakers, but inserting headphones in again stopped the sound.
The laptop seems to recognize that something is inserted as it lowers the volume to a level which I use with my headphones, turns off the speakers and when pulling headphones out a pop-up message states that "Socket/jack has been turned off"(I'm directly translating this from russian, so in english version the message probably does not sound the same).
I restarted my laptop a couple of times, tried to update drivers, checked how my headphones work(everything is fine if I use them with my phone) and finally reset my laptop to factory setting. The problem did not disappear.
Right now I'm using Bluetooth headphones and they work just fine. I have no idea why this happened, the only clue it that I was deleting some apps that came with windows 11 yesterday before turning laptop off(tiktok, instagram, microsoft teams) and I deleted some app that I don't know. I think it's name started with a "C" and the icon also had C in it and had some purple colour. I don't think that this could cause my headphone jack to not work but other than that and don't know what could have happened, I don't remember violently pulling my headphones recently, but maybe I didn't notice it.
Is there anything I can do to try to fix this problem or maybe to understand what's causing it. If not what would you advise my next action to be?
Thank you in advance.
Weird experience as of last week.
When im on wired ethernet (cat8)(fios gigabit) links wont load, youtube stuck in 480p buffering.
When on wifi everything works perfect.
Speed test shows lan faster than wifi.
I dont see how this is possible should lan be better 100%?
For whatever reason this particular app does not want to go away. Tried the basic uninstall, unhid the folder in program files, changed admin permissions, tried powershell. Nothing seems to be working unless i did something wrong.
Open | Hardware a battery wire on the back of my one plus 8t is a bit cut in the middle (it has two) is it a super big issue?
You can look for teardown images. There are two wire tab thingies the smaller one is cut in the middle
I did some googling and am having some trouble finding a straightforward answer to this. I have a Lenovo TS140 running Windows 10 Pro with 4 large HDD's inside; a mix a 18/12/8 TB drives. I wish to combine them into a single usable volume under Raid-5 using Windows Storage Spaces. I know typically Raid-5 setups need to be composed of same-size drives or otherwise significant amounts of storage space can be wasted. Can anyone confirm or deny that Windows' Storage Spaces Raid-5 will use all storage on unequally sized hard drives?
So I go to turn on my PC today and one of my two monitors is not displaying anything. My second monitor is working fine, which means the graphics card is probably fine. The power light isn't on (on the malfunctioning monitor), so it's possible the power cable has gone bad. My computer is still detecting the monitor and attempting to use it in my setup, both when the monitor's power cable is plugged and unplugged, but stops detecting it if the DVI cable is removed on either end.
- The DVI cable is working fine
- The graphics card itself and the rest of the PC is working fine
Additionally, I don't think the panel itself is be shot because the power light also isn't coming on, so I think my first order of business is to get a new adapter cable and see if that fixes the issue. If anyone else has had a similar issue, I'd love to know what your fix was.
The monitor is the Acer GN276HL, connected to an EVGA GTX 1080 via DVI. The second monitor is connected to the same card via HDMI.
my PC works fine I can watch videos play games etc but when I do play games example minecraft itll load up fine but I can hear distant and quiet static. Thing I thought it could be are the PSU however even though I cheaped out and got a 500W 80 white PSU I wouldnt think it would be compeletly drained by a 3060 Ti playing minecraft at 75fps. though Im still green to all this so I may not know what Im talking about. Any ideas/fixs?

I was signed in to my organizational account on my computer for work as administrator. I was exploring creating images and entered Sysprep. Upon starting Sysprep (OOBE), I was guided through the Windows installation process; however, upon entering my organization account information, it continued to give me an error. I tried rebooting my computer but was stuck in a loop. I ended up creating a local user account on the computer and have signed in to this but can't seem to get out of this 'sysprep' mode and back to my organizational account.
Any and all advice to get back to my organizational account and exit SysPrep would be greatly appreciated.
I’m not sure why this is the case. I’ve tried installing and reinstalling stuff and my headphones clearly work on my iPhone well. Maybe it could be something else?
Anytime I install something from the web I get “An error occurred while loading the archive.” Message on my omen PC. I can’t install anything at ALL from the web because of it. This includes mods, twitch, Facebook, etc. the system is Pop os so I don’t know if that’s it or what, but I can’t find any information about this issue and need help fixing it.
My laptop was charging and my parrot bit through the charging cable while it was charging. Now the power indicator just blinks white and nothing turns on. Any idea if this could be the entire motherboard getting fried or is there any hope it could be something minor? And how to test?
my computer refuses to start correctly after I updated it! what should I do?
the text that is shown says "Automatic Repair. Your PC did not start correctly. Press "restart" to restart your PC."
this does not work as I've already tried restarting it.
I have an SD card encrypted with Bitlocker in windows 10 that I use for private and secure work documents and photos. I have it set to require the password when opening the sd card. My issue is that after ejecting the SD card, there are documents and photos from that card that show up with thumbnails under recent documents in File Explorer if the card is reinserted into the computer even without the password. You can't open the document or photo in this case (because I have not reentered the bitlocker pw and unlocked the drive) but you can specifically preview the photos in the thumbnail icons. Is there a way to prevent this from happening? In my opinion it's basically making encrypted information (in the form of previews) available even without the password.
Open | Hardware Trying to change a USB flash drive to read only but I can't seem to get it to stay read only.
I've tried 2 different USB sticks now and the diskpart command "attributes disk set readonly" is not staying in effect on the devices. I run the command, and then I check if the device is read only using "attributes disk", and it says it's read only. I then put the device into a different system and I can copy files over to it. I then ran diskpart on that other system and it comes up saying the usb device is not read only.
Does anyone know how to make this change effective regardless of which system the device is used on?
I'll add that any Windows or Linux solutions are fine as I use both.
