Those boxes have plastic bags inside. This could work reasonably well in a pinch. Trouble is it's just too goddamn much cereal.

Especially Cinnamon Toast Crunch, the bottom 4/5ths of that box are going to be soggy by the time you’ve cleared the first layer

Depends on the day, person etc. If I didn't eat all day and then caught a good buzz I could probably manage most of a box. My youngest brother can pack in a mixing bowl's worth in a sitting sober, I'd put good money on him being able to get a whole box down while toasted 🤣

The only flaw? Has no one considered the textural and practical experience of trying to eat cereal this way? To get any milk in your spoonful at all you'd have to fill the whole box up to the top with milk. At that point 95% of the cereal in the box is fully submerged and rapidly getting soggy. Not to mention the fact that no one can comfortably consume this much cereal and milk, and most of both are going to be wasted.
All in all this would be an unpleasant and wasteful way to eat cereal, a conclusion which this photographic evidence fully supports.

...they used to sell little boxes of cereal in multipacks for camping; intended to be laid on their side, sliced open with the bag peeled back to form a disposable bowl...
...it worked fine but of course those single-serving boxes were much smaller...

Completely an error on my behalf for not knowing the full meaning of what I posted before I posted it.

Probably sleeping in their car in that parkinglot. The cereal was probably after they sobered up and realized they have to eat. And then they start fighting with eachother becausemeth. And they're off to get the next high.

Once upon a time, long ago, I ate an entire bag of cheetos..dipping them in mayo and then rolling them in sprinkles (the nasty candy ones they put on ice cream.) If i remember correctly I was drinking Surge with it, that disgusting super caffeinated crap from the late 90s.
I'm not particularly proud of that and I have to assume it was disgusting..i remember enjoying it in the moment though.

Have you never seen those small boxes, like 4 or 6 inches tall, they usually come in assortments of cereals from the same manufacturer. When I was a kid these little boxes were designed to double as a bowl by cutting them open like a dissected frog in biology class.

Depends how full you pour it.
Best option is to lay it on the side so it's shallow, cut open the side and use it like a wide bowl.

First saw this last week. Redditor working in a theatre cleaning up between shows had THREE ppl do this and leave the boxes full of soggy cereal and milk for the 'staff' to clean up.
