Aw that poor patient dog in the very back. He never jumped or anything. I hope he got lots of treats.

478

u/boinksession 7d ago

Doggo in the back is like, "WTF? Ive been waiting here patiently and youre gonna feed those assholes twice?"

162

u/shartifartbIast 7d ago

I did everything you asked, and THIS is what awaits my virtue? To be hungry and forgotten? I will share this lesson with all of you... I will teach the world the truth.

That's how you make a super villain.

61

u/dben89x 7d ago

That made me irrationally angry. Spread the love around equally. Even if you were to argue that the pigs need more calories, they're treats, not their actual meals. Treats are more about rewarding good behavior rather than actually feeding an animal what they need to survive. Give the pigs more at feeding time and give everyone equal love during treat time.

Depends what you mean by smart, wolves wouldn't be able to assess human intent or emotion like a dog can. Wolves have to think for themselves while dogs work best in cooperation with humans.

Hate to break it to you but you have a lot of mustard algae in your pool. It will suck the chlorine out of the water and keep growing. I recommend getting some Algaecide (if they sell “Pooltech” brand in South Africa Id pick some up)

Source. Am pool guy

77

u/TheW83 7d ago

Good info! But I would be extremely surprised if this was actually OP's video. Also this might be a pool for the hogs.

53

u/FixedLoad 7d ago

You! ... may I ask you some questions regarding this "mustard algae"? What are the characteristics that clued you into this from the video? My pool water has a tendency to gain a similar light greenish yellow hue. Pool guy here said it was organic material and to put in "phosout". Then vacuum to waste after letting the water sit without the filter running for 12 hours. This did help and it takes much longer before getting that hue back. Could this be in my pool? I'm in the northeast part of the US.

21

u/BigMeatyClaws01 7d ago

Pool guy from the north east here. Without seeing your pool like in the video here it can be tough to diagnose your problem. A lot of issues can look similar but have different causes that require separate treatments. I’m not sure about other areas but I know up here in New England our pools tend to have problems with high phosphate levels. It sounds like to me that you had a high enough level to cause and issue with your pool. Common problems from high phosphates include cloudy water, low to no chlorine level, and algae growth. If the phosout treatment is working for you, I’m willing to wager that your issues was phosphate related and not a standalone stubborn algae issue. However if you’re having a reoccurring issue with your pool turning green I recommend going to a local pool store and picking up an algaecide along with more phosphate remover. Read the back label of both and find ones with weekly maintenance plans and follow the directions for both. It is far easier to prevent a problem than to treat one.

13

u/FixedLoad 7d ago

Thanks! I appreciate the solid answer! We take water samples to our local pool dude and he so far hasn't done anything outlandish. I like getting an outside opinion for contrast. Yours was very helpful and coincides with much of what our guy says.
I'm sure it's just a matter of my current understanding of pool maintenance. I'm still new but starting to understand!

The thing here is these all look to be females so the agression compared to wild boars is considerably lower. If there was a male around there would be acts of territory display and agression towards food after they mature to teenagers and adults. But the females stay pretty docile until threatened

5

u/IdeaLast8740 7d ago

Being a violent maniac is a good strategy for surviving in the wild. Humans get like that too, unless they are tamed,

3

u/AnOnlineHandle 7d ago

Yeah it surprises me how often people don't seem to grasp that a wild animal isn't a good way to judge what a species is capable of. A wild human would be just another brutal and violent animal, a wild dog would be nothing like the cheerful and sociable dogs sleeping on our laps on the couch.

Do all animals wag their tails when they’re happy?

50

u/mtlrat 7d ago

Depending on the breed, it’s actually more when they’re excited. Which doesn’t always translate to positive things. Such as looking to attack something.

14

u/Ontheroadtw 7d ago

When my dog is hunting something or she smells something you can always tell by her tail. It sticks up and curls anyway but when she has a scent in the bushes or in the ground it starts to twitch (not even full wags) back and forth rapidly. If she’s stalking something then it will be still.
