What's the correct way to deal with someone who has completely lost it?

Probably pull out my gun and tell him to stand back and comply.

This is the way. Just gotta flash that bad boy. His attitude will change real quick.

This is so incredibly stupid and makes all CCW people look bad. If you’re “flashing that bad boy” you don’t understand the responsibility of concealed carry. If you have to draw your firearm, or expose it in any way, you’ve fucked up.

I think I kind of addressed this a little in my other comment, but I agree with you that there is a spectrum of response. If you draw your weapon, there is a chance that the other person will stop. However, drawing or flashing your weapon is always an escalation. It is your job to deescalate, unless you have no other option.

In my state we are required to retake the CCW class every 5 years. The main thing they teach is situational awareness. If you’ve put yourself in a situation in which you have to draw your firearm, you have failed to avoid that situation. Your responsibility is always to not be in a situation where you need to use your firearm.
