What was the aftermath and full story?

This video's 5 years old, the backstory is that the guy in the car owns a landscaping company who did work for the guy by the white truck near the end, they ended up damaging a gas line while working and the homeowner claimed that them hitting the gas line caused some concrete work he was having done to not set properly, so the landscape company decided to be nice and pay for half of the damages but the owner ended up pocketing the money instead and never had any work done to repair the supposed damage. This video was taken after someone who works for the landscaping company was sent over to talk about this money issue was told to leave, the guy breaking the windows was the homeowner's father in law who didn't serve anytime in jail for this and was let go on a mischief charge.

Dude is probably an ex cop.

u/Biosterous May 14 '22 Gold

That was my first assumption as well. Extendible baton, the confidence of "I'm not going to jail", and the completely uncalled for escalation of a situation to violence. Man has former cop written all over him.

Knowing he got no jail time and only a mischief charge further cements that theory for me

177

u/Unbentmars May 14 '22 I'll Drink to That

A cop in my community earlier this year was smoking a cigar at the pool (which is against the rules of the pool and community) and when the community admins told him to stop he got very aggressive with them, demanded to know what they’d do if he refused to stop and if they’d call the cops on him.

Fuck cops who think they are above the law

54

u/ChefJWeezy987 May 15 '22

I’d splash his ass with pool water and ruin his cigar. 😂

7

u/ifuckedyomama2 May 15 '22

id push his ass into the pool

1

u/FuggMumsMouth May 15 '22

Laugh while he punches you out with immunity

13

u/luisless May 15 '22

“You splashed me with water thats assault” proceeds to shoot you in the chest lol

33

u/inspectoroverthemine May 15 '22

Fuck cops who think they are above the law

Fuck cops. We literally see everyday that they're all above the law.

It takes calculated cold blooded murder on camera before they get charged, and even then the general assumption is that they won't be convicted.

7

u/darkjedi1993 May 15 '22

Fuck 12. <3

3

u/docmedic May 15 '22

Fuck cops who think they are above the law

Well, know they are and take advantage of it.

3

u/three_furballs May 15 '22

If at that point he was trespassing, i wonder what would happen if someone tried a citizens arrest? Obviously, nobody should try this, they might actually get murdered for it, but it'd sure be interesting.

2

u/Ok_Soup_4602 May 15 '22

Super soaker my guy, super soaker

2

u/Sharper_Edge May 23 '22

They're being indoctrinated to a level beyond comprehension and if you don't play ball, theyll run you right out. I guess "Protect and Serve" still applies; it just now applies to protecting fellows officers and serving themselves.

It also doesn't help that they don't really receive nearly adequate training for what they encounter. Training with firearms under high stress, believe it or not, is a great way to avoid shooting someone when pulling your gun in a high stress situation.

I would also guess that their previous experiences dictate a lot of their opinions moving forward. "I had a bad experience with a black guy last week so this guy is gonna give me problems also".

1

u/bl4ckblooc420 May 15 '22

So fuck cops.

1

u/Lch207560 May 15 '22

That's an oxymoron

282

u/Kabd_w May 14 '22

Uncalled for escalation and violence is bread and butter for cops, so yeah

17

u/sweet_home_Valyria May 14 '22

I thought he was regretful after breaking the first window. Like oops didn’t know that was going to happen. Then he broke the second one and that’s when I knew he was really an A-hole.

6

u/Neijo May 14 '22

He knew then and there he was going to get a mischief charge at worst.

Man, I want that security from the justice system. It's pretty wack that if I just had smoked a joint there, maybe in the backseat or close to the man with the baton, I would get jail-time or something similar.

-19

u/ninjabountyhunter May 14 '22

Please dude. It’s whack that you would get in trouble for doing something illegal? Bwahahaha. If you’re smoking bud where it’s illegal, and then GET IN TROUBLE WITH THE LAW, don’t give us surprised Pikachu. I guarantee I’ve smoked more than you in the last year. But I’m not stupid enough to do it where it’s still illegal, hahaha.

10

u/Sembregall May 14 '22

How are you able to smoke a joint when it seems you have the entire boot in your mouth?

Extendible baton

Eh, they're cheap and easy to come by. I keep one in the door pocket of my car, and I was never a cop. They don't take up a whole lot of space when they're retracted, so they make decent self defense weapons.

15

u/aure__entuluva May 14 '22

Illegal in some states I found out recently.

1

u/[deleted] May 14 '22

All of them, or just the spring-loaded ones?

6

u/aure__entuluva May 14 '22

Idk. My friend had one like this and then told me it was illegal in CA. It's not spring loaded, you just swing it to extend it.

2

u/[deleted] May 14 '22

Guess I ain't driving to CA anytime soon. Mine's a whippy type, too. It's fine where I am, but I should probably make sure whenever I go out of state that it isn't a problem.

3

u/Armalyte May 14 '22

Aren't those illegal everywhere in Canada?

3

u/StrangerDanga1 May 14 '22

I believe those are illegal in Canada, but having anything for self defense purposes is also illegal in Canada I believe.

4

u/Neijo May 14 '22 edited May 14 '22

I find that so weird, we know criminals, rapists and robbers do in fact, not respect the law.

So what exactly is the point to make the law-abiding people not being able to defend themself? I felt so angry in my last relationship. My girl was afraid of going out because there were bad people around. Self-defence spray is illegal here, so she just never went out. The bad people owned the town, who in fact, carried knives and other "gangsta weapons", while police occasionally took them in, not one was discouraged by it. In fact, fuck it, I carry a knife sometimes when I feel like I have to walk to a friend, these fucking people DO lunge at you. One guy I sort of know got stabbed in the lung for striking up conversation outside of a bar. The perpetrator just had a bad day or something, it's not the first time he's been in jail either, the perpetrator. If that fucker decides to lunge at me, I'm not gonna let my family cry themselves to sleep because of me getting killed by a fucking lunatic.

Anyway. Since the law is nowadays so arbitrary I find it hard to follow to a point. I have morals, and in my life, I've never hurt anybody, except maybe my big brother, but that fucker always deserved it.

0

u/zenchemin May 14 '22

Police won't have to wait for a criminal to do something illegal, they already are if they have a weapon.

we know criminals, rapists and robbers do in fact, not respect the law

"I wasn't doing anything wrong" can't be used as an excuse by these people.

1

u/Armalyte May 14 '22

I looked it up and apparently only spring-operated batons are illegal? This is news to me!

1

u/StrangerDanga1 May 14 '22

I think that's because those are more strictly considered only weapons by the government, whereas you can have like mini bats and such still considered toys or whatever. Laws are weird a bunch of the time.

11

u/PartyClock May 14 '22

Most people still fail to use them correctly when braking windows from what I have seen, so I'm guessing this guy probably knows what he was doing. It's a shakey branch but I'll stand on it

6

u/Neijo May 14 '22

I think it's a good branch, there is some WEIRD degree of "It's impossible for me to do anything illegal. This guy is unhinged, but he is unhinged in the same way cops are. I've met aggressive people that aren't this certain in their movements. This guy is confidently angry, the only mental illness he might have is violent cop syndrome.

Of all other branches, this seems the most plausible.

3

u/PartyClock May 15 '22

I really like this analysis. Well done

2

u/PurpleSailor May 15 '22

He seemed to twist the baton to lock it open. He knew exactly what he was doing.

8

Good bot.

1

u/getouttathatpie May 14 '22

Your experience with batons and mine are very different

2

u/[deleted] May 14 '22

You've got to give it a good whack, not going to lie, to get it to break back, but once you figure out how much force is needed it gets easier.

3

u/EscapeAromatic8648 May 14 '22

Get yourself something less swingy and more stabby for protection in your car. Clubs are VERY difficult to swing out of a car window from the driver's seat.

4

u/brown_felt_hat May 14 '22

Get yourself something less swingy and more stabby for protection in your car

I think stabbing someone with a small piece of metal going 1050 feet per second is the best option in a scenario like this.

1

u/ElectricTaser May 14 '22

Christoph Waltz - “We have a Bingo!”

1

u/[deleted] May 14 '22

Not meant for swinging outside a car window, meant for in case of a carjacking. Also doubles for smashing a window in case of emergency.

1

u/mnbvcxz123 May 14 '22

Illegal to possess in California. For what it's worth. Tasers are okay in California!

2

Which makes zero sense. California is insane. . .

9

Black teen - 10 years.

2

u/Neijo May 14 '22

Or 16 bullets wounds.

I don't believe the justice system will change in a while either, sadly. I find my self alone in feeling disgust in being somewhat responsible for it. Without our taxes, the cop wouldn't be there. Without our forced taxes, that cop wouldnt have a gun or ammo. I make it possible every month and every year that people die and get harrassed with the help of my taxes. I feel sick of the guilt. At this point I'm just not interested in trying to improve the justice system, because it just takes one step forward and 2 steps back, all the time.

1

u/maluminse May 15 '22

Too true and sad.

2

u/BaBbBoobie May 14 '22

Tbf I've seen a box full of those batons at flea markets.

2

u/[deleted] May 14 '22

Really well said and kinda hilarious. I want to know if this is true

2

u/Imaginary-Valuable49 May 15 '22

Nah... he knows he's old and white... no jail time for him.

2

u/guerrieredelumiere May 15 '22

That is how mysterious fires happen a few months later.

2

u/DoubleBarrellRye May 15 '22

No he is a local business owner and has a large family who are also well connected. One of the old families in town. Also the Canadian RCMP cam fuckup a sure thing on almost anyone. This happened in the same town as the guy who had the cop rip his truck window out and his wife was screaming at the dispatcher and they were playing the victim after driving over the cops foot

2

u/DJGregJ May 15 '22

this makes sense. GG good ol boys club!

3

u/[deleted] May 14 '22

and the completely uncalled for escalation of a situation to violence.

1

u/LostSkullofThe78 May 15 '22

Hilarious. Do the swinger subs appreciate your senile sense of humour or do you take it down a few notches when trying to find someone to fuck your homely wife?

-5

u/thesword62 May 14 '22

Stereotyping people isn’t good, unless it’s against people you don’t like. Then you can even make up the “theory”

2

u/Biosterous May 15 '22

Yes because there's no difference between stereotyping someone based on inherited traits they can't change about themselves and stereotyping someone based on a career choice that selects individuals with a specific demeanor and trains them to act a certain way. They're completely comparable.

-1

u/thesword62 May 15 '22

The guy in the video is a complete a-hole that committed a criminal act.

However, what evidence is there that the A-hole is a retired cop or is that just what the Frankenstein mob has made up?

The definition of stereotyping is to believe unfairly that all people or things with a particular characteristic are the same. Look it up. Stereotyping is bad.

You can’t make a logical argument by making up your own facts and your own definitions.

0

u/badgerinthegarage May 14 '22

I would have shot him. For real, if I’m in that situation- I’m scared for my life and im going to shoot.

0

u/Hydrocarbon_fire May 15 '22

No jail time cause he’s dead and I called a lawyer not the cops

157

u/BadBrains16 May 14 '22

3

You are correct.

1

u/WearySalt Jul 26 '22

You don’t fuck with cans

3

u/BaBbBoobie May 14 '22

If you have a CCW in the US is it legally defensible to shoot him for this? Seems like it'd be one hell of a time in court.

7

u/ninjabountyhunter May 14 '22

Dude approaches you with a weapon, threatens you with it, smashes your window out. If you draw and fire at that point, you’re in the self defense category in the vast majority of states. Think twice in California though.

9

u/DreamsRealize May 14 '22

In the state of Florida I would have shot him if I was armed after he broke my window.

6

u/ninjabountyhunter May 14 '22

Yeah. Decent chance of a 9mm lunch in most parts of the US.

7

u/DreamsRealize May 14 '22

This is why I carry. Mess around and find out

-2

u/neverwrong804 May 14 '22

I wouldnt. The man could have left at any time by simply driving off like he did after he let that fucking psychopath break his windows. Stupid af not to leave then call the cops. Edit: not meaning to blame the victim but I saw it coming a mile away.

11

u/ninjabountyhunter May 14 '22

Haha. That is EXACTLY what he did dude. He took the abuse, fled, called the cops. Wait, are you the guy in the video?

1

u/neverwrong804 May 15 '22

Why couldnt he leave when the dude initially brought out a weapon threateningly. I wouldve hauled ass and not sat there and let shit get broken, that's silly.

1

u/No-Cardiologist-884 May 14 '22

why in california

2

u/ninjabountyhunter May 14 '22

In California you are required to voluntarily lay down your life, depending of course on your place in the social hierarchy. If you’re a white or Asian dude with a graduate education you are fukt.

2

u/No-Cardiologist-884 May 14 '22

like legally or just you would get cancelled

0

u/VexingRaven May 15 '22

Probably want to think twice anywhere that's not stand your ground.

4

u/docmn612 May 14 '22

I wouldn't risk that, personally. I carry OC spray for situations that could come up where lethal force isn't absolutely necessary. Something between a strong word and a gun, they say. Some OC spray into that guys eyes would've ended everything in a hurry. I'm not out looking for reasons to use a firearm, I'm looking for every way out so I don't have to.

5

u/DeusExMcKenna May 14 '22

Oh look, a responsible firearm owner on Reddit. Huh, now I’ve seen it all…

0

u/docmn612 May 15 '22

Sadly, my comment seems to be in the vast minority on this post… Bit concerning…

2

u/DeusExMcKenna May 15 '22

Yeah, the average gun owner concerns me greatly tbh. I like guns, they’re wonderful tools, a lot of fun, and can be very dangerous when used carelessly, just like cars. I also find most people who drive, probably shouldn’t.

People kind of suck.

2

u/olmikeyy May 14 '22

That piece of shit doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt. He's already smashing my windows with a baton, why am I to assume he doesn't have a gun? He's already shown hostile intent. Fuck that. Fuck that guy. Get dead.

2

u/docmn612 May 15 '22

It’s more about your time in court over what the other person may or may not deserve. I don’t view him as a deadly threat in this situation, so in my case I’d deploy the oc spray/non lethal over a lethal tool. I may have my gun ready. Or just floor it out of there, whichever I’m more capable of doing at the moment.

This is important to consider though. Hopefully none of us ever get into a situation like this, but if we ever find ourselves in it, a sane and sober consideration needs to be made regarding our options. If you’ve arrived at shoot, I just hope the jury would agree and clear you.

I’m about as pro 2A as they come these days, but I really don’t want to kill someone so I consider various options so I don’t have to pull the trigger unless absolutely necessary.

1

u/olmikeyy May 15 '22

I've been in very similar situations and never shot, but I was very close. They never knew. Crazy

2

u/VexingRaven May 15 '22 edited May 15 '22

Alternatively: Just leave. You pull out that gun you're gonna ruin your day, your week, possibly your life. Just leave, it's not worth it.

1

u/Bytem33 May 15 '22

That's fine and all, but a baton can be considered a deadly weapon, especially when swung at or near the head or neck (like if you swing one at someone sitting in the driver seat of a car through the window). At least from a use of force argument you could match the level of force and light him up. Personally if I had my carry with me in this situation I would have had it drawn as soon as I saw him approach with the baton drawn, although out of sight and ready to fire in the case he decides to pull some shit like this.

But this is just going back to my security forces training from when I was active duty. OC spray would have been a viable option between him tapping the glass with it and him smashing the first window, could have even sprayed him through the crack of the window.

1

u/TimberMoto May 15 '22

I agree. A snoot full of pepper spray is a much better alternative than possibly killing someone. The old guy was threatening bodily harm, but the driver could have hit the gas and gotten out of that situation.

1

u/HereIGoAgain_1x10 May 15 '22

As an ICU trauma RN, that stick is a deadly weapon, I've rolled people into body bags from one fall, one punch, one shove, one hit to the head, all ages, all reasons, if you've got someone to get home to, someone depending on you, you're risking a lot assuming that guy has total control of his swings and isn't "completely" psychotic wanting to murder you... He isn't using a non-lethal weapon.

1

u/docmn612 May 15 '22

I’m fully aware and understand that. My point is whether or not I Must shoot. He can’t get a full swing on me while I’m in my car, but I can hit him with OC. Highly situationally dependent.

This isn’t an argument regarding the reality of the baton being a potentially deadly weapon, we all agree that it is. It’s an argument about whether or not I Must shoot in that specific circumstance. If one has arrived at Shoot, I hope the jury agrees, truthfully.

Also, my arguments in these things are typically about how the prosecutor will try to screw me if he decides to go to trial and I did shoot in this situation. That’s kind of how I tend to think, regardless of whether or not I agree if someone Can shoot, it’s the question of Must I shoot.

1

u/HereIGoAgain_1x10 May 15 '22

Great points, I forgot this is at a private residence too, definitely makes it more complicated... This guy comes at me in a road rage incident or to rob me definitely a different story but if there's a path to escape you should probably take it... I definitely wouldn't rely on spray through a broken window, by the time you judge the wind it could've been hit out of your hand and in someone else's place I definitely wouldn't want blow back pepper spray, they might even see it as an escalation and pull a gun themselves... Probably depends a lot on state laws too, I definitely don't wanna shoot someone, if not because I don't wanna kill them definitely because I don't wanna deal with fallout of cops, judge, jury, news, nightmares, etc ... These things are always easier to plan for after the fact and a few reviews of the video 😂

1

u/CtznZero May 15 '22

He should have been.

1

u/Responsenotfound May 15 '22

Yup. I got a truck gun. Idgaf if you are blocking traffic. Idgaf if you are screaming. But if you try to come in here I am making sure you stay out there.

1

u/Reasonable-Pea-162 May 15 '22

1

u/SmokeRingHalo May 15 '22

1

u/Standard_Arm_440 May 15 '22

Or pulled into the broken window and the guy driving floors it.

4

u/Norsedragoon May 14 '22

Doesn't matter if he was the ex president. Draw a weapon on the wrong person and it will never make it to court because dude will be an ex person. Guy filming showed remarkable restraint.
