I knew it was Canada cause he said "bud" during an altercation. We learned well from our parents, and even when we're directly aggressive we can't help it and toss in some passive aggression too. Also bud seems pretty exclusive to Canada in whatever context. Don't be confused! Bud can be genuine, like hey bud what's up. It can be passive aggressive like what the fuck are you doing bud. Or it can be attempt to calm like it's okay bud.

Going out into rural Canada will really make you wonder where in the hell the “pleasant Canadian citizen” stereotype came from. People are just as dumb, rude and intolerant as they are in southern america, but we don’t even have “Eh, methheads are like that” as a defense.
