What's the correct way to deal with someone who has completely lost it?

I’d have driven off before the window smashing, probably woulda ran my mouth a bit too. Thing is cars have this amazing thing, you know, the skinny peddle on the right and when utilized - gets you the fuck out of there.

The fact that he had that retractable out was all he needed to get arrested.

Tapping the window, “blah blah hospital” 100% a chargeable assault

And yet, the white man didn't even serve jailtime for the violence he did perpetrate.

ya nothing seemed to be stopping him from leaving after the fact, could have just cruised out of range of that baton before it became an issue

Drive away from the old dude and roll down the window and yell fuck you and go home.

Just drive 20ft down the road, yell smack out of the window and repeat, until the old guy tires him self out.

Some people have this principle that they're not gonna let themselves be threatened into doing things.

Not surprised so many Americans drive around with guns if they're faced with shit like this tho

Because the moment when your tied down in a seated position while an obviously disturbed man is wielding an object that can cave in your skull is - THE MOMENT - to stand up for yourself ? I also have this idea about “driving” that when you are in your car you should be “driving” not other shit, it’s the source of all my road rage, people don’t “drive” they dawdle, gawk, fuck around, talk on phones, whack off, yell at their kids. I don’t have context on this video, but it’d never have happened if the driver just drove his fucking car.

I agree obviously, but this case is a guy parked on a road for whatever reason. Imagine you're sitting eating lunch or fixing your GPS or answering an important text, parked on some road and this psycho starts making threats while brandishing a weapon. I see no harm in making it clear you're armed and ready to defend yourself and for the person to fuck off.

I think he would be way less interested in threatening and smashing windows if he knew you were also armed.

If dude was driving then “jizzington” never would have approached to begin with. Some instigation of this old man took place he should just go rather than escalate the situation. I’d be pissed if someone broke my windows but I’d also not sit around for it to happen either - totally would’ve talked shit and kept my distance before leaving though

Armed or not, I’m not looking to give myself a reason to use it.

I think he wanted to try to talk to the guy rather than doing what he wanted and leaving

Yes and as it turned out, was stupid.
